Okumura Corporation (Location: Abeno-ku, Osaka; President and Representative Director: Takanori Okumura) and Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kenji Morita; hereinafter “Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development”) announce that they began construction of a new logistics facility on September 1, 2026, at the project site in Hirano-kita, Hirano-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture (hereinafter the “project site”). Completion of the logistics facility is scheduled for the winter of 2028.
Conceptual design of the completed facility
Under this project, Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development is developing retail and logistics facilities on land leased from Okumura Corporation.
Following the start of construction on the retail facility in September 2025, construction has now begun on the logistics facility.
The project site is located in the southeastern part of Osaka City and offers excellent access to key logistics hubs in the city. It is approximately 9 km from Osaka Station and approximately 12 km from Osaka Nanko (Osaka South Port), measured in a straight line. The site is also a two-minute walk from Hirano Station on the JR Kansai Main Line. Its proximity to the station and location in an area consisting mainly of low- and mid-rise housing provide an advantage in securing warehouse workers. Okumura Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development will develop a logistics facility that takes advantage of the characteristics of the site.
