Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kenji Morita) and HASEKO Corporation (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Satoshi Kumano; hereinafter "HASEKO") announce that construction of MCUD HASEKO Retail Kamakura Kajiwara (hereinafter the "facility") was completed on July 31, 2026. The facility is a Neighborhood Shopping Center (NSC)*1 developed by the companies in the Kajiwara area of Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture.
*1 Neighborhood Shopping Center(NSC) is a term used by Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development for a relatively small-scale shopping center with a supermarket as its core tenant, serving nearby residential areas as a commercial center.

The facility is an NSC with two above-ground stories, housing a supermarket and a home center as its core tenants. In addition to a store composition amenable to everyday use, the facility offers plentiful parking space on its 1st, 2nd, and rooftop floors. The project site has also been planted with yamazakura (Japanese mountain cherry), the city tree of Kamakura. By creating a comfortable space surrounded by rich greenery native to Kamakura, the partners aimed to develop a lifestyle-oriented NSC that customers can enjoy.
The facility will house stores that contribute to consumer convenience in the region, including a LIFE supermarket and a CAINZ home center, creating a familiar commercial hub that enriches everyday living. CAINZ is scheduled to open on August 28 and LIFE is scheduled to open on September 1, 2026.
The facility is sited in a quiet residential zone between the ancient capital of Kamakura and the Shonan beach area, a 12 -minute walk from Shonan-Fukasawa Station on the Shonan Monorail Enoshima Line. In October 2023, plan approval was granted and work began on the Muraoka-Fukazawa District Land Rezoning Project, a project advanced by the Urban Renaissance Agency on the north side of the facility with project completion slated for fiscal 2038. As a component of the land district rezoning project, Muraoka-Shin Station (tentative name) is scheduled to open in 2032 as the first new station on the JR Tokaido Line in 107 years.*2
The facility is located within about 1 km of the planned site of the new train station. Urban development connected to the station's opening is expected to create further retail and community activity.
