In the project, MCUD, Tokyo Tatemono, and Sankei Building will jointly renovate a hotel at the project site and will reopen the hotel as "Holiday Inn Express", a brand operated globally by IHG. Positioned within the "Essential" category at the core of IHG's 21 hotel brands, Holiday Inn Express offers refined, simple, and smart stays that energize the day at the destination, through a free warm breakfast, fresh-ground coffee, comfortable rooms that invite sound sleep, and other amenities. Its comfortable, no-frills, attentively-considered hospitality is perfect for family trips as well as business stays. With 3,292 operating hotels and 655 hotels in its scheduled-opening pipeline worldwide, the brand is set to open the renovated hotel as its first hotel in Hokkaido and its second in Japan following Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Centre - Midosuji.
The project site is located in central Susukino, one of Sapporo's leading commercial and entertainment districts. Situated within walking distance of Susukino Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku Line and Hosui-Susukino Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Toho Line, the site offers excellent transportation convenience and outstanding access for both tourism and business. Restaurants, retail facilities, and entertainment facilities are concentrated in the surrounding district, making it an area that appeals to and attracts domestic and international tourists. It also offers excellent walkability to the Sapporo Station environs and the Odori area, great convenience as a base for tourism, and easy access to business destinations, making it an attractive hotel location that meets the needs of domestic and international guests for both leisure and business.
